Final Project

Ive posted these pictures to demonstrate that exaggeration is sometimes a perspective based on the person. To "normal" people we cosplayers may be exaggerating our love for what we cosplay and turning it into an obsession but we see it differently. We are showing our support for that thing. Just like how athletes spend their money on sports equipment, we spend our money on stuff for our costumes.
More pictures to come later tonight.

exaggeration

so i will start by going through a series of events on friday to be represented by kitty pictures.
woke up and had to pay World of Warcraft for a time that my account had been hacked and they say there was insufficient evidence to support my claim.

Then i go out to my car and see that it has been egged.
Then a guy on a moped cusses me out for pulling out in front of him even though he was going below the speed limit and had plenty of time before he would have hit me.
Then me and a friend went out and found a very hard to find object that will help me with the final presentation (a black turtle neck, you'll understand on wednesday)
Then i am told that i have to help my aunt move for the 2nd time in 3 months and that i have to get up at 8am and then go to work at 1:30 and i have homework to do in between.
but when i was mad i was mad at everything not just the crappy stuff that happened and i began to wonder why we exaggerate emotions when stuff like that happens. We know what made us angry but we still get angry at other things even little things so i did some research on emotions.

facts taken from changingminds.com:

Although aggression is a natural emotion, it is a very social act. It is learned from parents, peers and the media and people are likely to be more aggressive when they believe it will increase their social standing. It can also be cathartic, allowing us to let of steam.

Phillips (1983, 1986) found that homicides increased after a well-publicized boxing match. When white boxers lost, more white men were killed, and vice versa.

Sixth Class

Today we pretty much brought everything together. The things we talk about like structure, context, that stuff. We also talked about our play assignment and our senses assignment.

PLAY!!

First off i loved the video and the notion of serious play is great in my opinion. Not only is it great for being creative but it can help people relax at the work place. Take Office Space for example. If I had to work in a place like that i would probably go crazy. But anyway I decided to play around a playground for about 30 mins. I ran around and then remembered a game i used to play where the ground was lava. But just thinking about the running and jumping i thought up some cool ideas for a movie. Then i got some friends together and we played Nerf for two hours and that too gave me some cool ideas for movies but since we had to play like we were five in the beginning there was a lot of:
"I shot you!"
"No you didn't!"

Sense

So i chose to take away my sense of sight. So i took my sense of sight away for 2 hours on sunday. An hour before my cousins graduation party and an hour during. One of the questions i came up with was would i know my relatives even if i couldn't see them and the answer was no the majority of my relatives i could not identify by sound. Another question I came up with was how if would affect my perception of the drive. Well one i had no idea how much time had passed or how we got there and it was not a good feeling.

The sense i came up with was the ability to sense disease. You would know wether or not a person had an illness and thus could choose to avoid them.

RAM

So i listened to some people talk about what they did. Websites, video editing, that kind of stuff. Heard how it can be tough finding a job after graduating. Had some good food.

Fifth Class

Today we talked about time and what we make of it. Time is pretty much a structure so that we can have order in are lives and have things be efficient. I still love Doctor Who's quote about time, "People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but *actually* from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff."

What if answers

4. I suppose we would be able to jump to any point in time we wanted. Events could as repeat themselves. As Doctor Who said "People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... timey wimey... stuff."

8. Kung fu would be practiced by many and mastered by quite a lot of people. Everyone would be perfect drivers. Everything would go horrible wrong but work out in the end. You would get the girl no matter who you are.

9. Everyday would be the worst day ever.

23. I would make a killing in movies.

26. For the sake of everyone else i would start time again.

Fourth Class

I thoroughly enjoyed the video game discussion. I am not sure what to do for the research assignment but I have an idea. The TED website was interesting as well as the videos but the one about the sculptures the guy was not enjoyable to listen to. He sounded scared.

The doorway

We decided to send the door way back. I thought this was a good idea because we didn't have to create a structure with it.

Third Class

To start this class we talked about some of our what if questions. We spent the rest of the class talking about doorways and how they are opening to a new area or part of a structure. We were then given the assignment to do anything with a door frame. I think we came up with a good idea.

Egg: The Fated Trip Home

here are the chain of events leading up the the arrival home.
We just arrived at the car.

At a stop light.

At another stop light.

At my front door.

In the kitchen.

Who didn't see this coming?

What can i say? I took pictures with my egg and then ate it. This was a delicious assignment.
Most people probably went home, drew a design on the egg, or did something crazy with it. I decide to take pictures of me with the egg and then do what you are supposed to do with an egg that you aren't going to hatch, eat it.

First Class

The first class was interesting. The door was locked for our classroom so we sat out in the hall. We eventually moved to a classroom which I like better than the traditional classroom setting. I am excited about the egg assignment. I have a few ideas that I personally like. I think this is going to be a really fun class.
